Bargain Digger??

bumper

New member
Hey guys found a real bargain at wal**rt for only $9.96 and with a lifetime warranty,But a word of caution, our local parks guy will run you out if they see you with one of these. they dint mind a small knife but not something as big as this no matter how well you recover the hole

hay bumper, I got one of throse diggers. Thery are no bigger than a lesche digger, work just as well. I got mine on sell for 7.95, and take mine to the parks all the time. one side for cutting roots, other side for digging. works good. best of luck to you Flintstone

also the v on the tip will cut the smaller roots.

I use a Lesche but I am going to get a Big Grip as a back up. The only bad post I saw was recently on one of the forums someone said the handle broke on theirs. I know they also carry them at Target for about $10.

Bumper,I'm on my second one I paid around nine dollars for mine from Meijer's.The first one I used for over a year until the handle broke.Construction material underneath the handle is easy to break if you pry too hard.I've encountered park people and had no problems with this digger, which most consider it not as knife but a garden trowel.I think it digs really well, handle isn't bad I carry this digging tool and my pinpointer in the same hand. When this one breaks I'll probably buy another one.

I guess civilization hasn't quite reached Arizona yet. Lots of us here use bayonets for digging tools. I saw one last week that appeared to be a German '98 Mauser, one M-16 and I sometimes carry (depending on where I'm going to hunt) a bolo-style from the Spanish Civil War. They are very sturdy and work pretty well in the turf. In non-turf areas my favorite tool is still a little pick with a thin spike on one side and a mattock blade on the other.

I haven't had any problems with the bayonet here, and it does seem to keep the bums at a distance. Arizona is one of those places where you can still walk around in public, even in a restaurant or store, with a pistol if it's visible in a holster. I wouldn't try it in a bank though!!

Mine's holding up ok so far, I just don't do any heavy prying with it.

Very strong and, with a little practice, you can dig a 2x2x3 inch hole - need it in our hard caliche. In many cases I don't have to get down on my knees to recover at all. I also have the Lesche Model 85B but I don't pack it anymore.
