From the land of the Bluenose.....well last night was our annual awards dinner and dance at the Weston which as usual put on a great meal and have no control over the long winded speeches that the board of governors seem to delight in presenting. With every free meal comes a sacrifice!

Had the pleasure of sitting with Ron and Barb. Nice fellow for a bloke. Been trying to talk him into taking me to the UK for a visit....or a dig or at the very least taking off his gold sovereign ring and throwing it out in his back yard for me to find!

Once the rhetoric was over the fun began and Marie and I danced up a storm. Mind you most in attendance thought I was having some sort of seizure while others thought it was Michael Jackson reincarnated!
I was the designated driver so Marie had a few wines during the evening which is a rarity for her. Made me think of a line from a song. "Biding my time while the glow of the wine made a fool of me." Loved the twinkle in her eyes.

After a night of being a social butterfly it was hard to come back down to earth without digging a hole in the ground. So as Marie went with her sisters to the Metro Center in Halifax to see those horrid Montreal Canadiens play I went a digging by myself as Tony T and I had our wires crossed. Mine more than his. Of course after I was out the door Marie said that the Scott Miester had called and wanted to go out. Get you next time Scotty.
Otto was running low so 20 rolls of tumbled pennies took care of his ever empty belly while the other rolls of quarters brought some Bud north of the border. Must say the clerk at the "Smart Shop" gave me that 1000 yard stare when I handed him the rolled coins! Hit a local school and shortly after two hours had 101 coins, a few keys and a buckle dewy. Money total was $9.78
