What is the best Digi SLR for a beginner. I have a Kodak DC4800 right now, and its a nice little camera but after looking at RM's and Toms pictures its a piece of junk. The clarity of your pictures is really mind boggling. I never knew digital cameras has that type of clarity and color. Simply amazing, you are really inspiring.

Total amateur.. I know. <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">

I think your camera is doing quite a good job. Your pictues are clear, sharp and good color... When you jump to a SLR it's becomes a new ball game. As far as a new camera goes Canon has the new 350D and Nikon is from what I hear about to come out with a replacement for the D70. I should have waited just a couple months before buying mine.If you have the money the Canon 20D is a excellent camera and Nikons new D2x.

Thanks Tom, But would those cameras be considered a beginner SLR? I know you have the D70 now and is that not quite an advanced camera. In Canada here I think the body alone is around $1200.
