Bandido II strikes gold AGAIN!

Thank the Lord for metal detecting!

This has been a good month. Second gold ring with the bandido II umax that I bought back in late may.

I plan on uploading my June totals here in a couple days.

10k white gold with stones.

Way to go Mike. It sure makes your heart beat hard when you find gold. Two very nice rings. Who needs them high dollar detectors when your Tesoro can get the job done. What coil were you using and do you remember your settings... KEN Ind.

Mike. You are making that bandido sing the sweet gold song. Congrats on a nice ring. I can't wait to get out and use mine. I will probably get some time in July. HH

The Bandido II uMax is awesome. I got solid hits on both rings with the disc set at 4 using the clean sweep coil for the 10k and the 8" doughnut for the 14k. Checking them in all metal they sounded like quarters. Aluminium of the same shape and size will sound very close... I just dig anything that seems coin sized in all metal.

Also, I've found that I have probably 30 ball parks and maybe another 10-20 regular parks I can hunt in my area (30 min drive in any direction from home)..So thinking about this, and how when I hit a hot spot at any of those parks, instead of working a grid in a certain park (like I have been..) today I said "I'm just gonna hit places I know people have been" ...BAM gold ring. Then just a while ago.. I drove back past the ball park (actually three fields in one park) and saw all the fields were in use and noticed there were people setting in the grass on the hill watching the games.. this catching my attention as I would had not thought about this, its likely 40 yards from the bleachers .. people were in their fold-able chairs all over the place! But mainly on this hill :)

I love this hobby.

Im beginning to wonder what yellow gold comes in at? This is the only gold I've ever owned so the first ring showed me that the detector discs out white at about 5 exactly.. I've heard that yellow comes in higher than white, which I hope is true... other wise who knows what I'm missing.

Gold comes in all over the map. I'm a coinshooter and the only time I find gold is when I'm chasing a nickel signal, stumbled onto 3 gold rings last season and 1 this season, all chasing nickel signals. Like you mentioned...who knows what a guy misses (gold) when you are focused on coin signals only....lol If you really want the gold you gotta pretty much dig it all to be real successful.......or take the stumbled onto gold chasing nickel signals.

The problem with Gold and the new fangeled machines is that you keep looking for some dang number....
Thats why I'm loving the OUTLAW. I also have found 2 gold rings this month. WTG Mike.

thanks for the motivation to get back out there tomorrow and dig everything had 2 days off and ready to go again, might have to take the O for a spin :bouncy:

good work on the gold fella's :clapping:

The truth is, if you aren't digging, you aren't gonna find anything.

Edit - Also congrats Jim! Keep the gold coming! lets see if we can get one more for the month :pulltab:

You are incorrect about "looking for some dang number"....as gold can, and does, ring in just about anywhere depending on content, size , coin, jewelry, etc. Basically back to what I said...you gotta dig it all if you really want the gold.

Thats Outstanding Mike! :yikes::drool:

Gold does indeed come in all over the map, both in tones and TIDS, yes in my experience, White gold and Plat ping in lower than yellow gold......A gold hunters only hope is a very fast retrieval process and work likely gold bearing areas...TIDS wont really help. For me, TONES do though...in lieu of both, then its location and numbers of targets pulled in the shortest time possible...numbers game...high iron, foil, nickels, tabs, trash signals...so a guy can quickly key in on the 'right' tones in the 'right' locations.. pull 200+ targets per day, you WILL be finding gold.

Chains are what I hunt...I know they have all seen a coil overhead, but its such a crappy signal, and theres a lot of rigs that just cant see them or they are disced out...big rings and chains is where the money is...its sort of interesting to try to spot people wearing big gold chains throughout your daily travels...they are pretty rare, and whats the chance they got lost outdoors?....then try to pattern your hunts where there is a miniscule chance where they are likely to lose them...in this regard we are more hunting a particular person's traits than a signal...

Anyway, heres some TIDS you may find helpful...notice where the big 18K white gold ring pinged in at in relation to the 3.6gr 14k? Even being 3X the mass?, one TID number higher than a small 10K? And the big 24k chain? 2 1/2 oz of pure gold sounding and Tidding like scrap?....its a fools errand to go by TIDS when hunting gold, theres no time to be looking at a screen in some great gold bearing location anyway, a guy just has to ping and pop and work the numbers.....in fact, a guy should forget about the whole thing and bust clad.......

Mike, All those ballparks and regular parks are Full of gold...looks like you are dialed in to clean them out!
Mud.

Ditto Mud.....you gotta dig the trash (ie: dig it all and a lot of it) if you want the gold and keep grinding away. I'm a coin guy and hate digging trash so I rarely stumble onto the gold and could care less. If and when I do find gold I generally will try and locate the owner with an ad in paper, give it to a private property owner if dug on their property, and I have been known to dirty up previous dug gold rings and give it to a property owner telling them I found it on their property (providing I had a good hunt, a way of saying thanks).....lol If none of the above I just throw it in the "treasure chest" with all the other oddball stuff a guy digs thru the yrs........

Almost forgot...congrats on the ring..........

I'm sidelined for a few....102 here today and no relief in sight

I agree with digging trash and while I no longer can hunt as long as I used to. My tagret recovery speed is second to none. Using the clean sweep or the round donnut I can almost always hit the target with my probe...NO electronic pinpointer for me.
I have been seeing far less targets of late so I pretty much have the detector (outlaw) wide open the sensitivity is maxed out and the discrim is as low as it goes...I do find more iron junk but hey I do have 2 rings this month that I think are gold.
