Bamboo Scoop Handle

I know it's been done before but I came across some Bamboo today at Ace hardware and thought I'd give it a try. I replaced the fiberglass handle on my Starv Scoop and cut the weight down by nearly 1.5 LBS. the scoop and handle are now exactly 3 LBS! I put a cork in the top to keep my good finds as the cavity makes a nice holding spot and also put a section of aluminum in the tip for reinforcement, just in case!

I took it for a spin this afternoon and it performed perfectly and what a difference in the weight, I can carry this thing all day!

Nice!...............looks very interesting, let's know how it holds up in the long run.
I,m using hollow fiberglass handles on my STAVR scoops, it does add an extra lb.
