Bagged a Couple Of Keepers Today...

Hit the beach to day at low tide for about 3 hours. Had the Quattro set manual at sens 18. Running along the water's edge at low tide. Like all the other times, it was punching down deep though that wet salt sand and getting some KILLER depth. I hit a few spots where there were a fair number of targets and found the 14K band among the clad. It was a solid 19 on the meter and around 10" deep I would say. I was digging the 34 signals even though I knew they were pennies. Figured I would do my good deed for the day for any PI folks that might come along.
After a while I got another 38 signal and figured it was another quarter when out pops the silver ring. It was over a foot deep. Also, notice the tiny ring (like from a pen maybe, looks like steel) that was a full foot deep in the wet. I played heck recovering that thing. So small!
Anyway, things are heating up down there and there are more and more people hitting the beach. The tourists will be here soon and I'm ready. Looking for a great summer. HH!
P.S. - Got the good stuff around 10th street. And Ina, keep that Quattro out of the dry sand...it's the best wet sand machine there is. Go git you some wet!

The Quattro, that is! Nice finds! I hit the beach for a couple of hours before/during low tide yesterday. Also worked the water line. No GOLD, buy I did "shag" two silver toe rings, one silver ladies ring, clad, a couple of pull tabs and a bottle cap. ALL were deep. One of the toe rings was well deeper than 12" and took about all the energy I had to keep digging for it! The hole ended-up about 3' across as it was continually filling-in. (some work is fun!) I was still swinging the Quattro walking back up through the dry sand to my cart to head home, when I little girl, guess 6 of 7 years old, came up to me and very politely asked about what I was doing and what I had found, etc. I spent a few minutes of "show and tell" with her and her mother before I moved a couple of feet and heard the beautiful "ring" of a quarter. I dug at least 15" before I shagged it. I identfied the pile of sand and told the little girl to find it and it was hers. It didn't take her long! Her excitement and "sparkly" eyes "made my day"! Her mother's comment as I walked away was that she would probably have to start looking for a metal detector and a new shovel for her daughter! Back to the reason of my response, the Quattro DOES GO DEEP!

It sure does go deep. I'm continually amazed by it. Do you run the sens up at 17 and 18 like I do?

Seems that sometimes I can run it at 18 with no problem, then other times I have to back-off to 17. Can't tell much difference between 17 and "auto" on the beach down here. Would be interesting to get definitive answer from Minelab on maximum auto.
