[attachment 56638 HPIM0360.JPG]I found this badge detecting an old home in Ky, any help on identifying what type of badge it is will be apprecitated.
 
It's hard to read all the words. What are they and what are the dimensions? Looks like Birmingham on the bottom. The coat of arms may go back to Birmingham England.
 
This is just a guess , but how about an insurance badge ?
At one time house had signs/ badges to show they were covered by fire insurance etc. and this saved a lot of run around when fire departments asked to be paid to put out your house fire some times even before they would put it out payment was asked for /given ...

Hi, seems to be a makers badge, depicting interpretation of British Royal Standard. Hard to see detail but does it say, 'Registered by Henry Elwell, Birmingham'?
