From the land of the Bluenose.....well after yesterdays fiasco with Goquickski I had the feeling that today's swish would be uneventful. That it was ,at least at the first stop as the beach was closed due to high bacterial count in the water. No problem as I just reined in my almost trusty steed and drove Goquickski into the sunset to an alternate venue.

Arriving at the next location I was greated by a swisher's utopia as the beach was almost deserted and the water like a pain of glass. There was no methodology to my meandering as I was enjoying the day being one with my Seahunter. The bliss was pleasantly interrupted on several occasions by the sound of my machine passing over yet another unknown treasure. By the end of my hour long search I had recovered a silver toe ring with an amethyst stone, a rectangle earing, half a dozen hair pins, a delapidated dinkie and enough change for a coffee and donut at Tim's ( found $3.37).

Refreshed, free from pain I merrily headed home to get ready for work. Even the long wait at the road where it was being repaired failed to frizzle me as I just popped Demis Roussau in the cassette player and chilled.

Of course you know something was going to happen and it did for as the traffic began to move I heard a pop followed by a loud swoosh as something punctured the sidewall of my drivers side rear tire which by the way had less then 10,000 km on it! Man O man not another episode of "The Continuing Misadventures of a Swisher." Son of a seahorse! No one has that much bad luck.

To make a long store short it just so happened that the flat occurred across from a tire store. Tried to change it myself but even my 240 pounds could not budge the nuts...save for this one and I was forced to hobble a wounded Goquickski into the tire garage where I required their assistance and they required my $10. Wasn't worried about the tire as the whole side was shot. New tire will have to be purchased with some of my umping money that I was hoarding for my trip to Newfoundland. Guess now I'll have to shout "Play ball" a few more times before heading to the ferry.

...if you think you're having bad luck, just look at that necklaus you're wearin' and smile.

To appreciate the sunshine, a man must have a little rain! <><

Don't know if I told you or not, but I stored my seahunter for six or seven years and when I did dig it out, the factory-sealed batteries had ruptured and had just ruined the insides of the machine. My pleas fell on deaf ears at Garrett. So, my next water unit will be something besides something made by Uncle Charlie.

Arkie John (Garrett)
(no kin to Charlie, as my plight with the seahunter makes plain)

Found $4.25 swishing with the ACE 250 (carefully) at mid-thigh depth. No jewelry goodies today.
