some one please tell me why the explorer is getting such a bad rap from people who have never used one. seems like all these die hard XLT users have nothing better to do. dont get me wrong WHITES makes great machines but come on are you really that upset because the XLT is not the top of the line anymore?? i have been surfing alot of forums lately and always read the explorer posts and it seems like XLT users make alot of bad comments, that they "heard about". i have used both machines and am verry happy with my explorer xs. i dont think there is a better machine out there. yes it is a little harder to get used to but if you take the time to read about it and use it you cant beat it!!!!!
what do you guys think???

And it seems to be only be whites users for some reason.like you said they make good detectors and alot of great stuff has been found with them. But there users,at least some, sure don't want to think that any other detector is as capable as the xlt. Can't figure out why,oh well I am happy.

hello guy's i am a new Explorer user just for 3 days now i got rid of my 4 1/2 year old XLT to buy the Explorer vean though all the guys i no and seen in this form just talk BAD about it i want to see for myself the XLT guys can't live with a better detector NOT MADE BY WHITE"S well i just sold my XLT and just after 3 days i can see that i DID NOT MAKE A MISTAKE i have not gotten any nice coins yet but the coins i am getting are DEEPer then my old XLT would vere go sorry but i can see the MILLENIUM detector is here and the name is Minelab Explorer

I agree 100% I have owned 5 Whites machines in the past,( two Surfmaster P.I.s, Goldmaster2, Eagle & Eagle2) and was very happy with them. At that time, I thought they were the best around in their price range. I have also owned several Fishers, (1280X, CZ5, CZ6, 1266X) and had the same high opinion of them. A few years ago I switched to a Sovereign Pro, and last year went to the Explorer. I am finding deeper, older coins in places I have hunted hard the past 10 years with most of the above machines. I am still learning how to use the Explorer to maximize its potential. For all around use, I don't know of a better machine than the Explorer, but if one comes out tomorrow I'll be the 1st in line to buy it, whether it's a Whites, Fisher, or whatever...

Ric,
I think why we hear so much from the XLT users is I heard that the XLT sales were down 40 some percent last year and they may be trying to discorage people into buying the Explorers. I would think that if they could get a better detector than the XLT they would jump at the chance, oh well their lost is our gain.

That grumbling you hear from Whites and other brand users is merely whining. The Minelabs are great machines that have advanced detector technology to a new level. The problem for others is that that technology is patented and therefore must be attacked, not compared.
