Bad Golden Coil?

tink

New member
I got my new used Golden Sabre yesterday afternoon. Got it unpacked and up together last night and read the manual for it. I went out a little while ago to the back yard to try it out and had some problems with it be stable on some targets. I tried my best to pin point a target but just couldn't hold a tone long enough. I threw a nickel on the ground and have a hard time getting a response from it to. I reached to wiggle the coil wire to see if it would sound off. It did and did the same thing when not target was around. All I have to do was set the coil on the ground anywhere and when I wiggled the coil wire at the coil the machine how beep.

Anyine know if this is an actual bad coil wire or something else? The machine seems to get real strong over a target on some sweeps and then real weak sounding over it a few times. Its the orginal 8" white Coil.

Tink, then there is a good chance this is the problem.I have had trouble twice in the past year with coil connectors.Good luck.Tesoro may check it out for you, call them.

Just send the coil and control housing to the factory and call them, telling them whats wrong.
One of the nice things about Tesoros is they dont want a long explanation from you, about how long you've had it, or what happened - just tell them the trouble.
