Bad CTX/coil wanted

I'd like to take apart a bad CTX coil to see if I can understand the chip technology used so perhaps I could make my own later on.
Maybe you have a coil or complete CTX that was burned in a fire, squashed by a car, that kind of thing that Minelab warranty repair won't cover?
Or if you know of anyone that has already looked into this please pass on a link.

my point made even more clear people are starting to get shirty with minelab and with good reason !!

let us know how you go or more like this thread will get pulled or moved.

Amberjack,

I have no alterior motive in asking this question, but an honest need to know if you will.
I see a lot of negative responses from you on Minelab products in these threads. What
happened? What is the story behind this? Again, I have had things happen to me in the
business world that I could blow my laptop up with and with good reason and that's what
I am seeing here. As a "Newbie" I just couldn't help asking. It may be something I need
to know and be aware of in the future if I have to deal with them on an issue. What happened?
This is my second Minelab but prior to that, you could not convince me they even made
a metal detector other than a Garrett and I still have an immense respect for Garrett. The
only and I mean the only reason I ever bought a Minelab was I could not get my ATPro to
ground balance at the beach.
