Bad connectivity w MI-6 Pinpointer

Sorry if this has been posted before. I am new here.

I have an XP Deus, WS-4 headphones and the MI-6 pinpointer.

I am having breaks in the connectivity between the system and the pinpointer when I synch the pinpointer into the machine. I turn it on and about 50% of the time it all goes quiet for the pinpointer. The other 50% of the time, it reverts back to the coil noise in the headphones.

Anyone else having this problem. I am working in the 5.2 version. Honestly, I've quit trying and am using the pinpointer as a stand-alone. There are some advantages to that as I am constantly switching from the XP to the pinpointer while searching for targets. But it shouldn't be this unreliable when running the pinpointer through the headphones!

thx

Ed

After more than a few years the MI-6 is not 100% as touted to be, I don't even bother using it in paired modem knowing that eventually it will loose connection and I'll have to turn everything off to get it to work again. It has been this way since it first came out but has gotten better with each firmware release. The more wireless items around the buggier it is.

I never had a problem with mine once

I’m considering adding the MI-6 to my Deus. I already own the Garrett Carrot and am wondering if the MI-6 would be worth the investment. Any thoughts on this. Thanks!

In how many ways can I say "I love thee"? Through-the-headphones sound is as good as it gets. And there are 4 different programs just press the "+" or "-" button on the remote control ( 3 pre-set and 1 custom).

And a close second place is there is no chatter in the headphones from an off-brand pinpointer. When you click on the MI-6 the detector goes silent and only the pinpointer comes through the headphones.

I have used the excellent Garrett probes interluding the carrot stick for many years and they are excellent.

I made the decision to purchase a MI-6 and have never regretted it.

Its advanced technology compared to other probes and worth using with the XP detector and while not perfect its 99.9%.

:beers:

Happy Hunting,

Jerry.

No problem with mine used with my ORX
It’s great but I wish the detector stayed on while the
pinpointer is on so it would be possible to switch between
pinpointer and ORX with the Mi6 ON rather than either/or.
Others may disagree

That's what the Pinpointer "Off" button is for. Another option is to hit the "+" button and run program 3 which has higher sensitivity (set at "45").

I purchased the MI-6 as soon as it came out and I absolutely LOVE The combination of Deus/MI-6/WS-4. There was a couple of times when there was a lag between switching off the MI-6 and every so often the MI-6 loosing connectivity. After updating to V5.21, all is perfect mow. I updated as soon as offered and can not remember having any problems since. If you own an MI-6 and have not updated to V5.21, I highly recommend doing so.

Doe anyone know an easy way for old farts like me to switch the MI-6 so it can be used with different detectors? I did it accidentally one time, but for the life of me I can't remember how.
Thanks in advance.

Yes it’s worth it rechargeable charge last 90 hours lucky if you get 30 out of a carrot with one 9 volt!
