Bad coils?

Big Boys Hobbies

Well-known member
How many of you that have the V3 have had coil issues with the stock 10DD? Is it obvious when u do?

I've heard of a few bad coils at first but nothing recently. You'll know right away if its bad. Either the machine becomes irratic and unstable or the coil goes completely dead. Don't worry though, White's will take of it. Good Luck!

Try tapping the coil's perimeter. If it falses badly...bad. If you have a cover on, check to see if debris is in between?

I had a duff D2 coil. very unstable and loadsa false signals. sounded like a loada demented clangers singing in ur ears. whites replaced it without question for a super 12" which transformed the detector. Have had some great finds with the 12 and will get a 5.3 to add to the arsenal next.

all the best rob
