Bad beach hunt.

Boy the lake thats real close to me is sure hunted out.Last year it was closed due to a sale of land around the lake.I hope it will be open this year to refill the detecting supply.

I dont understadn why I had no good targets at all yesterday. After 2.5 yours of digging bottle caps,a pull tab, tons of wire, pieces of boat props, junk ect ect.I gave up-not even a single penny. I may try again today but I rather go dig junk at this old scool site-at least theres bound to be a old relic or coin.Just so crazy using a pulse induction for anything but nugget hunting or beach bumming.

Just wondering if anyone can lend a hand,I use a strong magnet for iron junk helps alot.I think all the good targets have sunk deep over the winter and my require the monoloop to get that deep? I would like to use my Infinium more but its so sensative it drives me nuts digging garbage all day.Its so good in the gold fields I just cant give it up.

I can understand some bad targets but am diggin everything for fear of losing the small gold.

If you are working in fresh water then you could try cranking the disc up to 3 or 3.5. That would help eliminate some of the small rusty bits while still finding
Small gold rings 9 to 24 ct down to 2 or 3 gms at around the 6 to 8 inch mark and deeper on silver and copper.

just make sure that you set the disc AFTER ground balancing.

If the ground is not mineralised then a VLF Discriminator might be the way to go. Something like a Sov, Excal, 1280x, Tiger Shark or maybe an AT Pro.

Yeah I am waiting for my goldbug pro to arive.Should be here in the next few days. Im always scared to loose that small gold lol I dig everything when beach hunting, guess thats my fault.I just need to be patient.Cant wait 2 search the grass area more-I have hardly done that.I have to get in before the grass all grows back.

I like to test myself for nugget hunting season.I love the worry free PI detecting also-no hot rocks-hardly any falsing out. They are really easy to use but they love small iron flakes.

I think the mono coils will help me out.I will have to start learning tones and not digging as much trash.Maybe when not prospecting using the disc will help also.

You might find an 8" Mono easier to use where there are lots of junk signals.

Some hunters prefer the smaller DD coil, but I have no experience with it.

Determining target size and shape (Easier with a smaller coil.) can help you decide if you want to pass or dig a target.

Where targets are fewer and deeper using a larger coil makes more sense.

One thing for certain, your detector is working!

Yes I think both mono coils in my area would work better than the DD coils.More senstive and since my ground is so mild, even most the area's I gold prospect.Hot rocks and blacksand may be issues but the Infinium itself does a good job without the DD coils help.Plus the 14" mono might not be so heavy.
