i found 2 right next to each other actuall but the other is in very ruff shape. i was just wondering if anyone had a clue what it is??

It is a toy pistol. I'll bet most of the guys on here had one if they were born in the 40's or 50's. TV Western's were quite the rage, most every little boy had a pair of 6 guns, a rifle and a derringer. The six guns would fire rolls of caps, I think the derringer would fire a single one if you trimmed it to fit into the slot behind the hammer, and if the cap didn't fall out while you were drawing it out of your pocket. I found parts of 3 different toy 6 guns, while detecting once. I would say the final battle didn't go well for the cowboys that day.

I had one just like it. I was born in 1974, so I'm guessing I got mine in the early 80's. You were still able to find metal toy guns in the 80's believe it or not. The companies hadn't totally switched to plastic yet. I believe I got mine from the Woolworth's store.

That is really small though...If the hammer pulls back, do you see anything that would indicate a lighter??? Is there a small stud under the hammer...If so, this would take the newer plastic caps...It fit over the stud like a cap for a black powder gun.

I have a small pistol like this. I thought it was a toy and was going to give it away, but when I looked it was made to shoot twenty two shorts. It has stayed in the house every since.
