Backup digger mod

Left my lesche digger on a farm, to be picked up next trip. Bought this at one of the stores, maybe Lowes . I think it was around $10 or 12 or something like that. I covered the brand name and it is true temper ed stainless steel.. Stopped by a machine shop and offered them $15 bucks to modify it on the spot the way they wanted it. They took it in the back room, and came out a few minutes later. The line on the paper in the pic was the original shape. This thing worked very well today in some test a field. It has a very sharp edge and fits my leather holder perfectly- it will be a nice backup digger and do till i retrieve my lesche. Note the notch for root cutting etc. It is about 12 inches long. CO

Yeah I have the same digger. got it at lowes , I like how it has a big palm area on the end to push it in the ground. Why the did you cut the end?

Lint, personally, my hands arent what they used to be, I wanted to see if it pierced the ground easier and I believe it does now. There are times I think the notch at the original end before modification was adding resistance but again could be just a hangup I had. It is a well balance and seemingly very durable tool and like you I think the handle is very well designed for functionality and comfort. CO
