The coin is probably Italian or possibly Spanish. Looks like Latin wording to me. Also what markings are on the brass key if any? Looks like a railroad switch key.
 
the letters "C" and "B" on it.
To me it looked hand stamped. I thought maybe community building but you may be right with the railroad thought

Your coin is a British Farthing, the bust on it is a portrait of Geogre the fourth, it is made of copper. Anna collects old world coins, I looked it up in her book.
