Back With Tesoro....

Been a Tesoro user on & off for over 20 years, just picked up a new Vaquero High Tone. It's the 3rd Vaquero that I've owned in the last few years in my quest for the "Perfect" machine. I still have 3 TID machines, but, sometimes I just miss the simple beep & dig concept that I learned on 40 years ago. I have been working on "Power Balancing" and have found that the Vaquero will hit a .69 cal bullet I have planted with the GB set a little negitive. If I set it with no rise in the threshold, it will not hit it in disc mode. Set the GB negitive and it will get the 10" bullet. Can't wait to get an old friend back out in the field to dig some relics!!!!.........HH, MO

Mark----You just can't stay away from these great machines can ya! :heh: ---Congrats on the V purchase!------Hey, what happened to the Tejon???---------Del

Keep us posted on how you're doing with it.

The Vaquero with high tone is a set up I'd like to try.

Indeed there are way to power ground balance or get more depth with a high threshold so experimentation is in order as that extra inch or two just might be the ticket to some nice finds...

Del, Have had 3 Tejons ans 3 Vaqueros........The Vaquero just seems to "Fit" better. I never used the 2nd disc on the Tejon anyways. Just like having different tools in my toolbox for hunting.................MO

I just upgraded from a cibola to a vaquero, now I just have to wait for the snow to melt in New Hampshire to start finding those good ol'e relics. I loved the cibola so the vaquero should kick butt.

Was always after the better machine....As you can see in my signature I have 4. I use detectors like a golfer does clubs, one for every situation. In my years of detecting over the last say, 4 years I have been thru a whole bunch of machines to find the ones that work the best in my area. I have settled for the 4 that I have now. The Vaquero is a basic beep & dig machine that I use if I just want to hunt a site that I know that there is no modern trash to dig. Set it on iron and just dig every target, even the big iron....Yea, I sent the warranty card in, so I'll keep it now!! MO
