Back To The Hunt

Howdy All, been a while since I posted any finds....because I just haven't had many till this weekend! I have healed up from my hip replacement and went back to work three weeks ago, only to work overtime almost daily and also working my days off. Finally got this weekend off, and put it to good use. My wife and I went to visit friends and were able to hunt around their 130 year old log ranch house. 8-9 straight hours with the E-Trac. I was tired, but I was very pleased with finding four generations of dimes on one hunt, something I have never done in 30 years of swinging. The WL was within the first few coins of the hunt, and gave me plenty of enthusiasm for the rest of the day though. The quarters were both spot on at 12-47, and to my friends amazement, I told him what they were, before I dug them out. The silver spoon is interesting because it is VERY thin, almost paper thickness and displayed right at 12-46 on the E-Trac. No nickels this hunt, and my first and only IH with the E-Trac, something I thought I would find more of at this location. But did find about a dozen wheats, and about as many memorials, and a couple more silver Rosies. Fun Weekend... BSC

Congratulations Big Sky!!! Thanks for the pictures and the story! What a way to get back into the "swing" of things with all that assortment of finds!!

Nice finds! You really ran the table in getting four different types of dimes. That is rarely done - way to go! It doesn't hurt to get that big hunk of silver (half dollar) either. Does the spoon have any hallmarks? It really looks old. HH

Nice finds, way to go on all that silver:thumbup:

No silver is safe from the E-Trac! I am still waiting for my first seated/barber/merc dime. I guess I should get out of the woods more.

Wow, what a hell of a day. Musta been very happy indeed. Thanks for sharing.Silver can't hide from the E-trac.
So the next post will be a grand slam of quarters??

Big thumbs up.

I found a trade token from up your way, a place called the THE REX in BUTTE. You guys have some nice looking tokens in Montana (assuming that you live in Big Sky Country)

Thanks everyone, for all the great comments. I was very fortunate, to get to hunt in a place that was completely untouched, and hope to be lucky enough to find others like it in the future. I've got a few in mind for the upcoming summer. ;) Thanks again, BSC

Good Job Big Sky, Take it slow with your new Hip Let it heal good???? Mickfin
