Howdy--
I went back to the site where I was fortunate (lucky!?) to dig that gold chain. It's a pretty good sized vacant lot and in the past I had concentrated mostly in the rear of the lot near the ally and the center of the lot while my friends hunted the front near the old foundation. I thought that I'd give the front a try - maybe they missed something? I'm glad that I did and THEY did. . I didn't find a single wheat-cent; just a few memorials. Then I got a low 70's VDI @ 4" and dug one thin dime. When I picked it out of the hole and checked it, I was thrilled that it was a Barber Dime. While a find like this is no big deal in the north east or mid west, in this small west Texas town that has been heavily hunted for the last 40+ years it is an EVENT hahah. Well, here it is: a 1901 Philadelphia mint Barber Dime. Best of luck and...
