Back to the CZ-5

Recently sold off all my detectors to take a break for a while. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and it is painful to get out very often and I had too much money tied up to not use my Deus. I traded some stuff today with a guy and I am picking up my new to me CZ-5 tonight. I have experience with the detector so I know it's capabilites and the deal worked out good. Hope to be posting some good stories in the future but for now just glad to be able to get out with my buddies when they get together. The friends that I have met through metal detecting have been some of the best friends ever and I miss the fellowship.

I'm right there with you, arthritis and all. Having a new pricey detector sit around just goes against the grain, doesn't it?? Having an old reliable around for the limited time I get out is what drew me back to my cz70. More than enough power and it does everything fairly good, so I'm happy. I still eye the new stuff with envy, but a guy just has to know his limitations, as Clint Eastwood said in a Dirty Harry movie years ago. HH. Bob.

Don't know where you have Arthritis but do remember CZ5 can be body mounted in various ways if a reduction in weight will help.

PS: with all the new lightweight units available today certainly they can keep you in field longer....

I love the analog CZ's.

One of the best things about them is that if you haven't been out in a while, it only takes about 30 seconds to set it up and you don't have to remember much or revert back to a manual to read what you need to do to change a setting in order to have it running at optimal performance.

I know these new units (I have several and do like them) have memory where you can save settings, create programs, etc. but every hunting spot is different ( even the same place if you know what I mean).

Have fun out there when you can get out...that's the main thing. You now have one of the best performing, simplest to use, overall units on the planet. Go find some good stuff with your friends.

Good luck with your new CZ. I hope it swings with ease for you.
I just bought a CZ3D should have it soon. Excited to get out with it also!

I said it before and I will say it again,CZ's are one of the only analog detectors made than can keep up with and surpass the great digital detectors of today! I have an E-trac also,But in some areas my CZ-3D will pull out deeper coins than E-trac with it's stock 8'' coil! It is also no slouch in trash once you get use to it. The Great Dave Johnson created a masterpeice with the Fisher CZ!

I second that Harold!
