Back to the carnival for another round of tornado 800 Vs trash

I went back to the carnival lot for 3 1/2 hours. I first headed towards the area I found my wheats & Roosevelt dimes from the last trip. I hit the area with a couple different angles (using the tornado 800 coil, sensitivity at 3pm) through the area and pulled a few more wheats and two nickels out. I then started working to the left(of the original 12x12 area) and found my first merc dime (1943) out of this lot. I also found a couple more wheats. I then worked further past the right side of this 12x12 area and managed to find a few more wheat cents. Since it was just about time to leave, I decided I would "take a spin" out of this heavily trashed area and towards the middle of the field. Since the ground was less saturated with junk signals, I turned up the sensitivity to 1pm and not far out (approx 5-7 feet out of the trash zone) I hit a nice sweet high tone.... another nice 1943 merc!

As I mentioned before, this little coil makes a BIG difference in trashy areas. The seperation abilities is phenomenal. Something the 10" tornado just doesn't have in heavy trash. I feel this baby IS the solution should you have massively trashed areas like what I am dealing with. It makes discouragement disappear and finds appear. That is what this little coil did for me. A BIG thanks goes out to Dr. Gunnar in Minnesota (extraction specialist) for selling me this little coil. This coil has made me a believer. I thought I would be using my 10" tornado for every situation as I have been doing extremely well with it. If you have trash situations and have used the stock coil, go back through with the smaller coil and you will be amazed. There is a condition though....lots of patients is required. Again, I was back in the trashed area for another 3 1/2 hours. So far I have logged 7 1/2 hours in total with the 800 coil in a very small area. And I know I will be going back to log even more hours. I find this more exciting, intriguing & more challenging then covering more land with a larger coil. The focus ( of hearing) is much more intensive then if I was swinging a larger coil in a bigger & cleaner area. Reason being: multiple targets condensed and trying to pick out those subtle high tones amongst the heavy iron trash. When I find them they are usually just a "one-way" signal.

The best way to describe this type of hunting - like "dialing" the am radio with precision to get the best clear audio to hear the program.

My take for the day:(2) 1943 mercury dimes (super dimeman continues to lives on lol) two nickels 1946 & 1940 and 12 wheat cents 1919, (2) 1937, 1941, (3) 1944, 1945, 1946, 1955, 1956 & 1959. Jim

Thanks for looking & HH

Jim if its that badd , like tuning in an AM radio thats badd, but you are becoming very skillfull at that sniping and the 800 is the coil for the job, looking forward to more of the finds, and the 1916 D

Thanks Ism.
Put on a little coil at that carnival place you are hunting, slow down and slightly wiggle the coil over the mixed signals and you will see good stuff start to appear.

I have been using the 800 coil for a year now and love it.

EP.....your skills combined with the Sovereign and eight inch coil, make one formidable weapon. :detecting: Great hunt!

If you like the 800 coil you might want to consider the 6" excelerator coil. It is phenomenol. It is very deep and extremely sensitive with excellent seperation. I also have the E-Trac & the standard coil as well as the 8" & 6".

Thank you CC - Jim

Hi rarysgaard,

I had one for a little while then sold it thinking I would never need it. I was really skeptical about the tornado 800 as far a making a difference in trash / Well, after a couple of hunts, this coil has made me a solid believer. The 800 certainly fills my need for a smaller coil. If I buy another coil it will be a coiltek but will have to be used as their new prices for this coil are out of my price range. HH - Jim
