Back to that apartment complex....

After hitting the backyard (so to speak) of that 1940 housing/apartments and getting the two silver Rosies and 3 wheats, well, I had to go back right? Yup.
Tried to finish up that area but the EMI under the power lines and all the crap attached to the building it was just plain lousy noisy. Thought to myself maybe the small coil better? Anyways moved off to the more main areas of the two courts. Ended up with 13 quarters, 6 dimes, 2 nickels, three more wheats, and another token with a zodiac theme (my sign too!). Most of the quarters were in line with a basement laundry room.
Went back yet again yesterday with jkline, this time packed the factory 5” and the Sharpshooter. No EMI with the 5” what so ever. Off I went....... hit a couple nice mid 80s repeatable tones at 8-10” deep so hoping silver quarter, nope. Dug big plug down to solid 12” and nothing, the tone disappeared! Rescan the hole, zero. Fill back in. Move on perplexed but short distance away his solid 92-93 at again 8-10” deep, dig. Zero. Nothing. Rescan, gone. Ok, am I on camera?? No indication of iron right at that spot either. Move to All Metal and nothing. I did this three or four times but at last I did find a couple electrical connectors which expected as the newer meters etc installed 10 yrs ago. Decided to switch coils and went to the Sharpshooter.
Minor EMI again present so moved out from that area and up the property line. Two more quarters, a couple dimes, a 1983 dog tag. Moved up to nearby property jkline had permission, huge EMI near the one corner, even changing frequencies no help. Walked away from the corner and it got quiet. Hit 93 signal solid at 4”, aw c’mon, again? Dig. Three quarters and s penny stacked! Vindication.
Anybody have experience with disappearing signals? Associated with the EMI? Thought?

Strange hunt Rons. Not had the emi high tone experience like that its usually a chatter for me.

One suggestion I received was one of those apartments might have some high end electronics running inside, interesting thought but not sure that amount of power would be residential.
I’m going back and dropping the sensitivity down to 30 and below if need be. Cant help but think there is another silver in there, I just need to get rid of enough of the chatter to hear an actual target tone. The additional EMI up the block is baffling too, maybe something buried under ground????
Anyway, figuring this out is how we learn.....
