Back to Jesus Saves

I went back to an old condemned church. Originally it was a bar. All I ever remember is the neon sign that says Jesus Saves. You can see from the picture why I call this place Jesus Saves. They tore the old house down behind it so I swung a loop there. I had found a silver dime once before. I kicked over and old rusty deal and it looked like a bank with a slot (pictured). It rattled like it had a coin in it. Dreams of silver or a wheat filled my head. I looked in with a flashlight and it is 2 small balls, I guess it is a rattle. I found 11 coins for 62 cents.

I bet there isnt anyone on here who hasnt dug something that got them all excited and then realized its not what they thought. Good finds.

...That Reminds Me....

They recently sold the Wal Mart by us and put up a SUPER Wal Mart. One day as we drove by the "Ole" Wal Mart...I was surprised to see that someone had turned it into a CHURCH! As I checked out the Church's sign....I told my wife that they messed up! On their sign, it should say...."STILL the Saving Place!!!" ........You know?....Wal Mart...the saving place?.....Well! it made since to me at the time anyway!?:nopity:

That's sure is an interesting looking building. Considering it was a bar at one time, there should be loose change lying around from the ones who had a "few too many" :buds:

I hunted around th ebuilding hard late last year and found a 1964 dime and a 1954 five Centavos coin. I found 42 coins total. It has a hard packed dirt road next to it. You need a jack hammer to dig. The neighbor told me the drunks used to stagger into his yard when he was a kid.

I really love history.
You should compile some material about this old building.
Talk to people who remember it. Bet there is even something in
the library. One day the old place will be torn down and everything lost.
Once you have enough material you could donate it to the library.
Hope you follow through with this idea.
