Dose anybody get a mid back pane under the arm on the apposite side of thear metal Detectors on???????
Thank You, MickFin,

If you are getting back pain on the opposite side it is possible that you are pinching a nerve in your back when you swing. Loosen up, don't be tense and try taking an anti-inflamatory/pain reliever like Aleve a couple of hours before you go detecting.

I used to get that problem all the time too - especially after about 2 hours or so. Last year I went to WalMart and picked up a back support (I think it was in an aisle near the pharmacy where they keep ankle, knee, elbow supports and bandages and stuff).

It's a wide thick fabric "belt" that goes around your waist - kind of like a weighlifter belt - with velcro straps that you can cinch to whatever tightness you want.

I still start to get that same pain you're talking about, but it takes a 5-6 hour day of hunting to do it to me now.

Thank You cubfan-64 N too Bobbie for your replys, Think iLL try im both??????? N im only 150 Years old LOL
MickFin,

Having suffered from back pain most of my adult life, I feel I'm a relative expert on the subject. Stretching exercises prior to starting your hunts are important. But also, daily stretching of those back, leg and shoulders are equally important. You may want to invest in an inversion table. Got mine from Play It Again Sports for a $100.00. You hang upside down for up to 15 minutes, thus opening up the spaces between the discs in your spine and allowing the discs to realign themselves. it really helps relive the pinched nerves..I'm not a Dr., but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once!!!!!

Thanks Larry(THE-PBP) MickFin

And dont overdo! Thats a big overlooked one.....If your mad for the quest of gold like I was, dont torture yourself and hunt every day until you find it. Take your time and relax....if your hunting here and there and it's just killing you anyway, def get the support and maybe see a doc.
