[/img] Hunted for 6 hours today , on the second midway. Most coins 4 to 7 inches ,merc was 4 inches deep with several nails in the hole with it.Only one way hit came in at 12.37 .Most coins were covered in trash and the 6 inch coil just roots them out. Have been using ground coin on checking nickel signals ,in my soil it is dead on nickels 12.13 and 90 percent of the time it's a nickel. Using ferrous coin combine my nickles would be all over the place 12.11 to 12.15 ,now when I go to check , no more averaging up from 12.11 to 12.15 . when it says 12.13 it stays on 12.13 , no more 12.12 folded beaver tails .Funny thing is when I check penny and dime signals with ground coin there all over the place 12.38 to 12.45 go figure .Ferrous coin they are much more stable and don't fluctuate as much. The 2 v nickles are 1895 and 1897. Hope you got out.sube

Very nice Sube, still looking for my first V nickel. Will you be hunting the midways all summer? Sounds like plenty of good ground.

Nice looking bunch of finds there. I hear ya about the nickel signals...I too have the same situation. A 12-13 is a nickel lock for me most of the time...anything else is pulltab related with the exception of the silver war nickels...they usually average higher up. Keep up the good work...I'd love to see some silver come up my way but wheaties are about all I find lately.

DigginVt Yes I will , wish I could go hunt some clean ground but it just keeps giving got to sterilize it first . Have plenty of good spots to check out that I found good coins at, 44 years and you remember the best places O the torture of not going some where else. sube

Wow that spot is amazing!

Another great hunt at (what should be) your favorite spot. I'd venture to say your having as much fun in that midway today, as they did 100 years ago. Congrats! HH Randy
