Back in the Saddle - Thanks Minelab and the Pro Swing 45

I had sold my CTX last fall because of a shoulder injury that was aggravated when I detected. I missed detecting and had to find a way to make it work. After reading good reviews, I decided to give the Pro Swing 45 a try. So I bought a new CTX with the 17" coil Promo and a Pro Swing 45. Today I went for my first real hunt with the new set up.

My detecting Buddy and I started after breakfast at around 9:00am. We went to an early 1800's cellar hole that we discovered on an 1860 map. It was about a mile hike into the woods.

I used the stock coil in the woods and I found a 3 ring bullet and an 1855 Large cent. My hunting partner found an Indian head penny and asked me to use my magnifying glass to get a date off of it. The penny was thick so we both thought it was a fatty. But when I looked at it both sides said "One Cent" (both sides were tails). Upon closer examination you could see a seam around the coin in some spots. The two coins were put together and we could not pull them apart. We guessed it must be an 1800's trick coin.

We left the cellar hole around 5:00pm because we were getting tired of fighting the brush and trees. We headed to an open field at another site. At the field I switched to the 17" coil and we hunted until 7:00pm.

Using the Pro Swing 45 was a dream, the detector seems to float in mid air. After 10 hours of swinging I did have any discomfort in my shoulder. There was plenty of room to attach my finds Bag, lesche and my Pin pointer and my cellphone clipped on up by my chest. With everything attached it was very comfortable.

One added benefit is I had an issue keeping my pants up, caused by kneeling down and standing up recovering targets. I found myself constantly pulling up on my pants all during a hunt. I tried suspenders but they were uncomfortable. So I took some Gear Ties and ran them thru my pants belt and on to the Harness's waist belt. My pants stayed put all day.

Even if you do not have shoulder problems I highly recommend the Pro Swing.

That's awesome!

Both the ProSwing getting you back into dirt fishing, and the double sided Indian "trick" coin.

Nice finds. Your story reminded me of my grand daddy and the problems he had - the shoulder problems.

Nice finds! Glad to hear the Pro Swing is working out for you I have been thinking about it and your report is encouraging. As for the pants problem I solved that by wearing Bib overalls, no problem with having to pull them up!
