Sorry for disappearing, between the weather, my wife and a real downer while metal detecting back in March I've been slacking.
But never fear I did get to hunt a bit and here's the catchup post, from Feb to now.
The stuff!
I'm not going to post pics of everything, just the best things. If you want closeups of any of the other items, just ask and I'll reply with them. There is just too much stuff to post it all. Going to start with the oldest coins and work my way forward.
February find. 1942 George VI Silver Dime. This guy is so encrusted with gunk I'm surprised I even got that much clean. Gonna have to soak him in Lemon Juice for days to get that off, it's either asphalt or tar.
March find. 1912 Edward VII Silver Dime.
March Find. 1913 Edward VII Silver Dime. Found at 8-9" deep just before the Park Ranger made us all leave, because some IDIOT with a shovel has been digging up the parks in Vancouver. This is the downer that really slowed my hunts and made even wanting to go a drag.
March or April(Can't remember) Attended a hunt hosted by Frasier Valley Treasure Hunters Club and found these items. Which earned me a coin award as well. 1944 George VI Silver Dime.(only silver coin found that day) and a 1973 Queen Elizabeth Coronation Memorial coin.
This is my award that day for the two finds. 1928 10 Centavos Silver coin.
April was not much happening, no silver the whole month, just old pennies.
May find. 1900 Indian Head penny, on hunt with Mike87 at 40 acres site. This is my 3rd IH penny so far. Also found two 1935 Washington State Tax Tokens, gave one to Mike87.
May Find. 1962 Elizabeth Silver Dime.
May find. OLD watch band buckle. British Hallmarked with company and silver marks. Unable to find the company, P&S co., but the lion stands out as marking it .925 silver. The city emblem is worn and the date stamp is hard to pin down without the right city. Any help is appreciated. There is still some leather attached to the pin. Also found that day is this George VI/Elizabeth II lapel pin, the pin is gone and it's really worn.
May 24th, 2013. Native Silver Turquoise ring, marked STERLING inside with a native makers mark as well.
And last but not least.
May 25th, 2013. 1910 Edward VII "Fishscale" Silver Nickel.
My Mother-in-Law was here in April and we rode by the park I found this in. Now you can believe this or not, but she says the tree's talk to her sometimes. And when we rode by this park, she said the one of the tree's on the right side of the small park called to her. She told me and I finally got back up there on Sunday. I grid searched the whole right side of the park for 3hrs and when I got within 5ft of the LAST tree on the top right side, I got a scratchy 12-34/12-35 signal. At 5-6" deep this little beauty pops out. I got NO other old coins that day, just modern pennies and junk.
