Seeing it was the last day of my vacation and my back is OK I went out and did some hunting. I hit a park and the strip in front of some old houses. I found a 1935s and a 1958d wheat. I found the brass "What -iz-it. It is 2" long, and made of brass. It looks old and has crude cast marks. I found it in front of an 1880's house right next to a wheat penny. It isn't broke and doesn't have any place for an attachment. Anyone guess what it is? I''m stumped.
I found 94 coins for $5.07.

Old style part of a coat hanger??? A good haul of clad.:clapping:

Glad you're back amongst us. That brass relic looks like some kind of hhok or hanger to me. If you turn it 180 degrees.

Glad you got in some swing time!!!
I'm just guessing, but maybe some kind of decorative plant hanger. Like attached to a rope that was hung from a front porch. What ever it is, it's cool.

Could be a coat hanger from a hallway coat tree. I used to spend some time in a mansion that had such things.

Great to see you up and at 'em again whitty,
Just take it easy for the first 2 or 3 hunts. Ease yourself in gently.

I was thinking that was an old wood burning stove top lifter, that you use to lift the plate over the hole in the stove top. I've seen some similar but larger, with more hooks, and the hooks were to pick up hot pot with, by the metal handle that pivoted over the top. I'm not really sure, but that was my guess anyway.
