This is my third attemp at large beach hunting and frankly I must admit I admire you folks who can swing a coil for long periods of time between beeps. I guess i'm spoiled but i sincerely prefer having my both my arms tired instead of just one
Anyway... here we arrived at the beach... looking for a good spot

There is a ton of people on the beach, but it's so large, everyone finds it's place and it was just perfect! The waves were a bit big, but not too raugh so we had a good time playing !

Okay, my attemp at detecting took place the very next morning at low tide. Very foggy morning.

Thanks to Diane who provided me with the link, I was right on time. The day before i spotted the best concentration and hunted the wet sand. I hunted and hunted for a good hour before i got a quarter and then later a pull tab. that's it! I had enauph. I know i'm leasy but my arm was killing me. It's used to stop often and the other will work digging...
Sand would pass thru the scoop. i had to toss it aside and spread it and hand search the pile. I can't beleve there weren't more signals. I was just at the right spot. I choose a 200 foot area and gridded the place with no luck. I must admit i lack the sciece of sea detecting
Oh well it was a familly vacation, not a detecting one! Motel wasn't the best in town (castaway) but it was really a good deal at 300 bucks for a 5 night stay, close to the beach and in the middle of boardwalk. Our next door neigborg was really quiet. we paid him a visit and understood why he never made any noise, except for a small complaint here and there at night.

I dont understand why he was so thin. the food was all fried stuff and i'm a bit glad to be back home and have good home cooking after a week eating in restaurants.
The only treasures we found were on the boardwalk. My kid had loads of small treasure plaing the games !

Here we didn't had any luck. A thousand of small rings were trown every second but none would stay on top... good gimmick !

After five nights, it was time to drive an other 11 hours to home. trip was pleasant except for heavy traffic near Albany. We took a small break at lake george and my kid was looking for a good spot to detect... well maybe some other day !

Well that's pretty mutch it. My wife will be back at work monday, but i'll still be on vacation for two weeks, and that will be the real start of my detecting season... providing my fellow compatriots didn't cleaned out our beaches while i was out ! Comepetition is getting taught up here. every month a new guy comes by .
