Back from Vandy and a blizzard warning!!

First the good news. Brian can now eat soft foods...praise the Lord!!! He can't eat chips or toast or anything with a hard texture. His first food was a soft taco and man...that smile was worth a million words. I have pics but am a little under the weather so will post some later. The doctor did say that the risk for bleeding is still there and that until the tumors quite growing bleeding will be a concern. Brian is afraid to eat because he worries about the bleeding so we will start him with just small amounts of food like mashed potatoes and gravy, apple sauce, etc.

We also had the mic-key button put in to replace the long feeding tube. It was a heart wrenching experience because Carol, a nurse and I had to physically hold him down so the doctor could replace it. To have your son yell that he hates you for putting him through this really breaks your heart. Afterwords, Brian apologised but we told him it wasn't necessary because we did understand his fear and the supposed pain involved. The beauty of the button is he doesn't have a foot long hose dangling from his stomach that he has to tape to his chest for fear of accidentally pulling it out. Now, a plastic tube is inserted in the button that opens a valve for feeding.

Now for the weather forecast: 1 to 3 inches of snow may fall overnight and through the early morning hours. A real hillbilly blizzard!! Milk and bread is disappearing off the shelves and schools are closing, well those that weren't already closed because of the flooding down here. We set a record for rainfall yesterday when over 3 inches of rain fell.

Thanks for all of your prayers!!

God Bless!

Thanks for the update on Brian, Bro Doug, and what a joy is in my heart to know that his long tube is off and he can eat soft foods now! I would like to have seen the smile when he took his first bites of food! Oh, what a wonderful thing when a person can eat and not have to get strangled or have it bother our system....like a stomach-ache! I think we are supposed to get some of that white-stuff here, also, but don't know if we will! Sounds like you got a lot of rain....the state of Washington has rec 7 inches on top of all the snow they had and more rain to come! Roads are closed due to lots of flooding....so I don't think either of us are in as bad shape as that state is right now! Therefore, Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, for Your goodness, compassion and mercy upon Your own! Tell everyone I said hello and prayers for Brian to get better and better! God Bless! Sister Betty

Surely you didn't say blizzard warning!:surrender:
If ya did, then you all need to just stay home and don't go out till the coast is clear!
I am so glad to hear the news of his being able to eat real food again! That was my prayer today! I have seen many answers to prayer lately.
Praise the Lord! God is good, all the time!
