Back from the repair shop.... Success

Yes, a successful repair by Minelab on my Chatty CTX! I sent it in almost a month ago.... Minelab was tied up working on other machines, there was a holiday weekend and I didn't help the process either... I never put my RMA number on the box so I'm sure they were beside themselves trying to figure out who's machine it was and what it was there .... when I finally figured out that I had forgotten that step, I called and was informed they figured it all out. When contacted by the technician that worked on the machine I was told they tested it and no problems were found... so I took time to talk to the technician about it falsing when in water up to approx. 3 feet and anytime the coil would bump the wet sand and that I could never go above 12 - 15 on sensitivity without falsing, he said it sounded like a coil problem. So the coil was replaced. I used the machine for 4 hours yesterday in the water, NO FALSING, also the sensitivity could be run in Auto +3 and at times was as high as 25.... Now I can finally try to learn this machine.

Few things I've learned that may help someone in the future IF having to send a machine in..... write down the RMA number on the box, Include a letter describing in detail all problems and include your phone number, the technician will talk to you, I know this since I had to send in my Excal two weeks later.... it went to a different repair facility, I was called by the technician to further explain the problem and the repairs were completed. Total turn around time on the Excal was 7 days (I live in the state the repairs were done in which helped on shipping time).

Never hurts to call and ask. Funny thing is, the day I called, a few hours later the technician called me....
