Spent some time this week on the beaches of SC with the CTX got in about thirty hours of hunting this week. Was a lot of fun. After hearing of some beach problems with the CTX from some I took my Sovergin for back up. Never had to use it on the beaches of SC the mineral content there is very low and the CTX for me ran great. Was getting some chatter trying to run manual settings then I went auto + 3 and never adjusted the sensitivity again. Most of my hunting was on the beach I did have it in the water up to about two feet as I first went in I would get some chatter but the CTX would adjust quick and be running smooth again quickly. I was most impressed by the ID even at good depth it was right on with coins pretty much every time. I dug some quarters at a foot that regestered as 12-46 every time. The next thing that I found really cool was after a four to five hour hunt the battery was still showing almost full. I would take it off and put on charger and less than 30 min it would be full charged. Balance was good much better than any stock Minelab set up I have ever used. It is a little heavy after long hunts but does not wear on me like the explorer or Etrac did that is the reason I sold both of them. Need some more time with it but for me right now it is a keeper for sure.
Here is the mess less only a few bottle caps the CTX did great on ID with those. Also less way over a 100 pulltabs. Got to dig them if you are going to get the gold.
