Back From Boot-Camp

Long drive to Tennessee and back but it was well worth the trip.Met a great bunch of nice guys that
love detecting and met up with an ol' buddy who I made friends with at a hunt out of state a couple
years back. It was great to see him. A great time was had by all I would have to say.Very, very informative seminar and
a great afternoon out in the field with people that really LOVE this great hobby. I can't say enough
about Andy and Jeremy as these are 2 great guys who love helping and sharing their knowledge
with fellow metal detector enthusiasts. I have only 13 to 14 hours on the Deus but walked away with
a wealth of information that I never knew of so now it's time to put it to use here at home. It'll take time but now I have
a positive direction with the Deus and this will speed up the learning process immensely. In my opinion
if you get the chance to attend a Boot-Camp by all means go and you won't be sorry!!! All in all a great time
with good people and a great learning experience. Andy and Jeremy if your out there, I just want to say Thanks for everything
and you guys are TOP NOTCH in my book!!!

We were glad to have you buddy if you ever need anything let me or Andy know

We are glad that you found the Bootcamp "hit the spot" in terms of showing you how to unlock the full potential of the Deus . . . . . based on the feedback, the combination of classroom and in-field time to put what we covered into practice was the ideal combination.

Hope to see some killer finds that you are making with what you took away from the Bootcamp . . . . . just keep your fingers crossed that the white stuff stays away this winter!

Stay in touch

Andy

What were some of the key things you learned that you did not get out of his book or in the manual? Was there any..... OH wow I did not know that about this detector! This class more of basically how to set things up in different areas and more in depth of menu settings? Just trying to get a feel for what you got out of the class.

Glad that you made it back and that you had fun! Sounds like you met some real nice guys. I hope you took notes and your using what you were shown right away. This way you won't forget. Get out and use that Deus as much as possible. I hope in the near future that they will have another Bootcamp but closer to my area. 13 to 14 hour ride is long for me. I'm not going to ask what you were shown because I think that the one on one stuff at the Bootcamp is what I want. And I am sure that they made it more understandable. Being shown is far better than reading a manual. Of course now that we have an expert like you maybe I'll come and see you!! Just kidding! Like Andy said, " Unlock that potential of the Deus!" Have fun! -Bob

There's no white stuff out here in the West Andy.
How about a Thanksgiving boot camp someplace like Phoenix---you'll draw from the whole Southwest and California

That's all I wanna know. Just wanna find out what they went over. Not all the details. Just a oveview on topics and or anything they did not see in the book or read alread in the forums.

I am probabely gonna ruffle some feathers here...but it kinda rubs me the wrong way. If I attended a "seminar" and thought it was fantastic and learned some great stuff...I would be really excited about letting others know what I learned to "share the wealth", after all, we are all in this Deus together. If I didn't post, it would mean one of two things, either I really didn't learn anything or, I was instructed not to spread this info around, so that the people conducting this seminar could continue making money. Now, I have nothing against people who are able to take their knowledge and skill and use it to make money...but not everybody can afford the time and money to attend their seminar...so that means sorry about my luck. As I said...IF this is the case, it will rub me the wrong way. Probabely not the case here, but the "silence" is interesting.

"SEKYPALEO"

You have an interesting perspective . . . . . and sorry of the fact that many of those that attended drove 6+ hours each way and might have other things to catch up on rather than posting "rubs you the wrong way."

One thing that has always struck me about the forums - any of them - is that people tend to be quite bold in posts hiding behind some user name that provides anonymity.

If you think that Jeremy or I instructed people to keep quiet in the hope of making money, you really ought to take up stand-up comedy. Seriously? Anyone that has dealt with either of us know that we have spent hours on the phone helping people that we have never met and are not customers of ours so if you think this is a "get rich quick" scheme you clearly don't know either of us at all.

We actually encouraged people to post their impressions and feedback on the forums so the fact that they have not gotten around to it yet seems to be your problem in that they have other things to do . . . maybe getting out and putting some of the techniques they picked up at the Bootcamp to use?

As far as what was covered . . . the main focus of the session was to help people in their search for specific targets and in specific ground conditions. The content of this Bootcamp will be different from one held in Florida or New York or California - different ground and different targets. Covering some of the material in the book is a given but showing how slight changes make a big difference can't be read and the demonstrations brought that out. The in-field demos connected the classroom session with actual conditions.

So I am glad you find the silence "interesting" but please, stop reading a conspiracy theory into the lack of posts from those that attended . . . . . and painting Jeremy & I as "money hungry" hucksters out to make a buck off of others - it's always worth getting your facts straight before hitting that "POST MESSAGE" button.

Andy Sabisch

Thanks for giving a heads up about what was covered. Of course being shown and heard is a big advantage from reading a book. I was not trying to be rude I was genuinely being curious. The only thing I found odd which you cleared up was the deleted posts. Don't take things said so hard here. We all spent good money on the detector and just want all the advantage we can get. Forums are for spreading all the new found knowledge and helping others. When some see others possibly getting inside info of course they are gonna wanna know what they learned. Especially if they cannot attend that class.

I am sure you can see where this might make some feel they are not getting the same opportunity or possibly hold a grudge. Unintended consequences.....

Just got back on line after getting home Sunday. Was reading the recent posts .
Here's my input as I don't want to ruffle any feathers . The seminar was a great
time and if you go you will walk away with knowing how to unlock THE DEUS'S
full potential. We all know it's a great machine! To be good with it you must use it
and learn it. The seminar will step up the process of field learning.Well worth the
time for me as I only have 13 hours on the Deus but I know now how to set up
the Deus for maximum performance. It's all simple now so I now must put into
practice what I learned and keep learning.I guess it's just knowing our machines, settings
and how to use them properly. The Seminar steps this all up. For those of you that
think Andy and Jeremy do this just for money should really think TWICE!!! These guys
do it because they LOVE the hobby and meeting the many good people in it and are
willing to teach those that want to LEARN. I feel these guys have a great program
and if you attend you will have no regrets and you will meet 2 great guys that are good at what they do.
I drove 9 hours and saved to attend this event because I wanted it and enjoy meeting
fellow treasure hunters. So all I can say is if you want to learn more about the Deus,
and just have a great time go to Boot Camp!!! I'd like to thank those for the encouraging posts
and I hope I didn't ruffle any feathers as I don't have any!

"ANDY"
Not hiding behind anything, ...send me a PM if you wish and I will get back to you with my cell number and an email. Maybe you should have read my post a little better...notice in the last line where I said "probabely not the case here"...but yes, I did/do find the silence interesting....would seem to me that attendees would be posting what they learned, to share with others. Notice I was not THE ONLY one who was asking. Of course I know who you are and have always heard good things about you, but when you write a book that you SELL and offer a bootcamp that requires an entrance fee..well, I wouldn't use the term "money hungry"...but there is profit made, yes? Even if its not a kings ransom. Sorry you took offense to my "conspiracy theory", but I and others were quite interested in learning what came out of it...only to hear nothing. How about posting some videos of what was demonstrated, so others who are not lucky enough to attend can learn? How about a thread or too talking about what was taught? Being that I am new to the Deus...it would be helpful to shorten the learning curve.

Thanks for your post...can you shed any light/specifics on what you learned there that you did not know before attending? I am familiar with the soil in the area where you attended...what did your Deus gb at there? This is something I am really quite interested in knowing.

Mine was Ground Balancing around 78 to 81 while at the bootcamp.

This is the whole point here everyone can have the opportunity, We out of our own pocket purchased loaner machines for the guys and gals on the fence, we buy the silver and prizes for the seeded hunts, we pay the hotel fees down 30 to 50 bucks so the customer gets a good room rate, and if these guys not posting the tips and tricks they learned makes anyone angry thats just petty, any of you have the same opportunity you can all attend. When we first started this thing it was something myself and andy were going to solely offer to our customers but we quickly decided against, FOR THIS REASON HERE! These guys took time out of their weekends and moneys from their bank accounts to come to our class and learn and you all can do the same, we have a class scheduled for october and november if you'd like to come. They do not owe any of you anything as you didn't give them gas money! Some people on the forums have a crazy amount of audacity to actually accuse us as being money hungry.. I have news for you we lost money on the first class as will we on the second and third we wont profit until the 4th or 5th class once all expenses have been paid.. Honestly Its only a small few that cause the problems and I am sure their the same ones calling around playing the shop every dealer I can game simply to save $50.00 from the garage dealer whom has no overhead, (and doesn't know how to even turn most detectors on much less help you use your new HIGH DOLLAR INVESTMENT) however everytime I receive a phone call from one of these select few I always seem to sit with them for 2 hours trying to learn them the Deus or CTX or whatever machine they purchased for that $50 dollar savings.

I think its VERY VERY rude for any of you to try and make any of the attendees feel bad for not sharing what they learned online, they came to the class and deserve to have an advantage. I am 100% medically retired from the marines and I dont sell metal detectors for my health I do it to supplement my income so that I can feed my kids and enjoy my hobby. So I want to be the first to apologize to the select few that none of the attendees would video tape or share what they learned in class. However we do not discriminate all of you are more than welcome to join us at the next one..

Any of you who actually know and or talked to me or even purchased machines from me in the past know one thing, I GO OUT OF MY WAY to help my customers, and honestly non customers alike. However these post that you guys keep making about the bootcamp are ridiculous, ask yourself this if your boss comes in tomorrow and says hey we have a new employee we just hired I am gonna need you to punch out off the clock and train him the rest of the week for FREE..... well I dont need to type anymore.. I am sure if that didn't make sense nothing else I say will either. Please guys and gals the $150 per person we charge cover our travel and rooms and food along with paying down each persons room by 30 to 50 bucks so do the math.. Yes we sold some accessories and that did make things easier money wise, but this class is for learning and for us to share our tips and tricks with the ones who want to come hang out so can you please stop treating us as money hungry Aholes. Andy S is one of the best guys and most knowledgable in this hobby quit trying to make the attendees feel bad with the poor me stuff, you have the same exact opportunity to attend.

I think some of the people on this forum would make great communists. One person pays the entry fee but everybody gets the goods....ha......Personally, if I pay the money I earn the right to know more than you. You want to know what I know, pay the money. Don't whine about those who ponied up not dumping their guts to you the minute they get home. It is the right of the person who made the investment, not the obligation to decide for themselves if they want to share. Or maybe someone should just make you a free video with everything they know included. Last time I checked this was the good ol USA, founded on the principals of freedom to earn some money through initiative, I don't think its a crime yet.....

Holy Crap Someone else sees my point of view thank you thank you thank you. lol... I am glad someone else can see how ridiculous this all sounds. Then you start back peddling by saying at the end of your statement (I am sure this isnt the case here) well that was added so you didnt look so bad, you meant what you typed or it wouldnt have been typed.

I am very glad to see someone else sees what I see in all these crazy bootcamp comments. I can promise you this I may be $50 or even $100 dollars higher than the garage dealer but I guarantee you all of my customers get the same TOP NOTCH customer service I strive to give. Dont take my word for it, there are a ton of comments on my website www.vancemetaldetecting.com.. If you have a question you can call me anytime of the day. hopefully this thread ends in a good way but I have a hunch it will not!
