Back after some tough times

Like so many people this past winter, I found myself a victim of the economic times and had to pawn my metal detector. I was so sure that I would be retrieving it but that didn't happen and I lost it. Times have turned around for me and I'm now shopping around for a new machine. The machine that I had was a DFX with a Sunray probe. I'm pretty used to it so I'll probably look for another used one, although I'm tempted by the finds that I see with the Etrac. Pretty pricey though. I used to belong to the Tnet site and after I lost my detector, I couldn't bring myself to go on it anymore, I was quite surprised to see it gone. I stumbled on this site and it feels very comfortable. Looking forward to getting back into the greatest hobby on earth and meeting some new freinds...Rich

Sorry to hear about the hard times Rich and welcome aboard. Unless you have special needs for the DFX such as salt water hunting, you might do well with a used MXT to get you back into the hobby. The MXT is a serious detector. You might want to check out that Forum too.

I have the XLT and the MXT that I switch around to hunt with.
MXT very little learning curve.
Newer MXT PRO would be a good choice !

It happens. Don't worry about it too much. I've been a contractor for 26 years and have really felt the crunch the past year. Don't forget about the best kept secret in the Whites line up - The M6. If your not going to prospect for nuggets or hunt the wet salt this machine in my opinion is king.
