Baby Garrett ha arrived!

From the land of the Blueose.....recieved notification today from Canada Post that my baby had arrived so I immediately rushed to the post office to pick her up. The two minute drive was just too long and I was very glad indeed that she had arrived.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dc32b3127cce824127a746d200000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>
As you can see by this photo I was shaking in anticipation of opening the box and did and there she was.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dc32b3127cce824127a4c7e100000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>

Immediately assembled and the video watched Rutgar took up position to quard the newbie which we named Rutgar Junior! Rutgar Senior now has 5 Garretts to watch over.<center><img src="http://im1.shutterfly.com/procserv/47b7dc32b3127cce824127a346d600000016108AcM2bhk4ZN2"></center>

Thanks to Mary P. at Garrett for the extra battery pack for the Seahunter and the Garrett hat. Think I'll make her a godmother!

You'll love how light weight that unit is and only used 4 AA batteries. I have one the wife bought me last spring. Haven't used it much but it has depth. (9 inches it detected one shot out of a Double Aught 00 buckshot - smaller than many ball bearings but bigger than a BB). I didn't like the headphones though that came with it - no separate volume controls for the ears. About blew my ears off when the first pulltab screamed at me. (I use Garrett headphones with the mono/stereo switch and the separate ear volume controls for all my land detecting).
Your blue headphones aren't the ones that came with my 250 - wonder if there was a change along the line?

I love this little unit - not as much as I miss my old GTAx 1250 though. (Coil was bigger so covered more ground and went deeper still - but it was heavy compared to the 250.) The yellow of the 250 makes it so cherry I almost think it is smiling and is so happy.

I know you will be so happy and successful with it. If I had to make just one change (besides the headphones) I'd get the larger PRO coil to cover more area and get a little deeper still. Happy Hunting with your new baby Leslie.

I've heard a lot of good things about the Ace! Sounds like a great backup machine for you! There's a video on either Google Video or YouTube of a newbie guy digging out his very first gold ring with an Ace. The ground was frozen solid and he was actually using a chisel to dig a hole He sounded pretty excited (who can blame him?)
