Well, here is what I finished up with.:clap: I used a piece of 1/4 inch I had round here. It is scratched as you can tell by the pics. It's 20:cry: degrees this morn, so I don't think I'll try it in the bean Field today.:bounty:
 
Excellent job!!!...Looks great, and I bet it is nice to not have to unsnag the coil from bean sprouts and brush...

My son used it in that bean field where I found that 1828 penny, dog gone if he didn't find a 1865 three cent nickle. First one I ever saw. I got it in olive oil now.
 
It worked pretty good, it didn't get hung up on the bean stems or get vines and sticks caught in the open areas inside outer loop. 1/4 in thick makes it heavy, next one I make will be out of thinner material, maybe 1/16th.:detecting:
