Awful MD'ing weather in NC

If it hasn't been raining, it has been very cold for NC (below 25 F), so I hardly ever get out. Now that I am retired for all of 4 weeks, I have detected maybe 3 times without much luck. However, I did find 2 old shotgun shells on my property. I also went to a volleyball court I have detected on many times, and found a nice silver ring. First silver in about 1/2 year. Hopefully it will dry up soon.

That's a good looking ring! It sounds like you have some nasty cold weather where you detect. I've found that location is really important when it comes to finding the good stuff, so spending time on raining cold days riding around looking for good spots to detect is time spent wisely.

Glad you could get out. I'm in Mint Hill and its a little warmer here. Going out today and Thursday. I bought the clothing to wear so only my nose gets cold. Ever come down this way look me up and we will see if we can up that silver count. HH JR

thanks. I had to look up Mint Hill. So you are near Charlotte. My major problem lately is that it has been so wet, and I hate to metal detect in mud!!!
Good hunting,

Great Job I live in NC aiso in a small town called Middlesex About 30 min. east of Raleigh.Good to see we got some N.C. hunters on the forum.HH

Got two feet of snow in new Hampshire, looks like end of march before I start digging again. Let's see some videos of you southern guys digging with Tesoro !

I live in person county near the granville count line, haven't took my cibola out of the closet in the last year or so, need to break it out when it starts to warm up. the problem with retiring is the paycheck goes at the same time but the bills still role in every month. so far all i have found on my place is a little bit of change and every nut and bolt i droped over the last 20years plus some old brass cartages and shotgun shells.

Worse here today. Big tree is blocking the bridge to get out of my driveway. Dead but wrapped in poison ivy! Haven't hunted in a week because of cold or wet weather. Good luck.
