Hello friends decided too stay close too home again and hit my back yard hit a signal that was spot on "5" with my 1999 Explorer XS wouldn't move at all so i dug and man too my surprise was a 1869 shield nickle :) this would be my first shield nickle that is in decent shape also found a jeep tootsie a 1964 Canadian nickle and a 1956 wheaty (not pictured) and a small 4 inch Aluminum reindeer cake tin which was down 10 too 12 inches and rang in loud and clear. This old explorer XS always finds the goodies no matter if im in on the beach or in a iron infested yard wtg Minelab. thank You for looking

That might be the best shield nickel I've ever seen dug- in remarkable condition! Congrats!

Mike this 1869 shield nickle was a surprise for sure and the nicest one . The home i live in was built around 1900 it always amazes me how coins end up in areas newer then the coins ect but i will take it  .
