You have some really insightful members here. I know that I must plant a new coin garden / test plot in order to learn the "V" when it arrives. When I sold my house I left my coin garden planted, silver and all...not that much silver as I would use the nastiest, beat up silver dimes along with clad and junk at various depths. I learned much about my Eagle 2 SL 90.5, XLT and DFX by spending many hours adjusting and testing. I even had large rocks that I left in would cause a null (we have some iron minerals here). I used to like to invite fellow detectorist over to try it out. I had one large rock that partially was exposed I could place a gold ring on it and some detectors would not pick up the ring with the settings they had tuned to.
Well I've been lurking here for a while and it was a big decision to jump on this new technology, even sold my DFX, the XLT I'm keeping. I don't spend much time at home in front of the PC, I prefer my mobile device and am burnt out on PC's being a full time techie for over 34 years. Besides at work I don't post...but I read the forums. Over the years I have made some fine friends on these online forums, and have enjoyed every minute I have had the pleasure of detecting and socializing with them. The last couple of years I have not done enough detecting, especially dirt digging and look forward to going back with the "V" to some spots and trying new places. I do it all, cellar holes, water, farm fields, parks, schools, curbs, door knocking...anything. I am a member and past president (twice), recording secretary (at least twice) of the Yankee Territory Coinshooters. This, the largest New England club and fine bunch of people. You got some talented posters here and I'm sure looking forward to new experiences with this new technology.
[/img] here's 10 minutes worth of saltwater finds from last year, all found in a small area after the sea bottom was stirred up by a storm. Yup, two large cents, 3 IH cents and two 1925 SL quarters. Here's another find that startled us because we first found this dead leatherback at night while sharing a glass of wine on the beach...1:00 a.m.
[/img] This CT copper is one of the nicest I ever found.
[/img] Well, enough for now, check you all out later.
