Auvio Wireless Earbuds Users Input

Hi , Anyone using the Auvio Wireless Earbuds can you plz reply with type/model detector used and short review of how they are performing . Have tried to research this with not much luck , most posts just say quote " They Work fine for me or words to that effect but never indicate what machine is used !!!! Thanks in advance .

Worked fine overall. Lag was not real noticeable. Since they are earbuds the audio is a little tinny sounding but I could easily tell the different tones

Here's a pretty good wireless thread that was on the forum a few weeks ago: http://www.findmall.com/read.php?18,1972568,page=1

I've since picked up a pair of the Auvio Earbuds and also had a chance to check out the TDK WR700's. Both sounded pretty good on my Omega. Both exhibited some lag. Using the Auvio Earbuds with the Omega, at a two second coil sweep speed (in one direction), a coin will sound off at about 10"-12" after the center of the coil passes over it. The TDK's got about 8" on the same test.

I have these and love them. I haven't really tested them for lag time, but I am generally moving the coil very slowly while pinpointing anyway, so I don't notice any lag. I have used them with great success on the Etrac and the M6, trying it this Thursday on the MX5. I have both the Auvio headphones and earbuds. Earbuds are great to use during hot weather while wearing a brimmed hat. I can't understand why they stopped making these! Once you go wireless, it's brutal going back to being attached to your detector!

I use two methods but this is the down and dirty.

Plug the headphones in about halfway until you get audio out of the headphones and the speaker at the same time. since you did not plug in completely there will be a point where you get audio in both before you break the internal switch in the jack that cuts the speaker.

Now put ONE earbud on.

Anyway, now sweep a target across the coil and listen for a split between the speaker and the earphones. If the lag is significant enough to cause an issue you will clearly hear it split between the speaker first and the phones second. If you "think" you might hear it....well it isn't enough to worry about then. A problematic lag is easily heard this way.

You should be able to throw coin on the ground and visually see that it sounds off in the middle of the coil without having to plug in the phones halfway.

Hi.

I have done significant research over the last 18 months on the issue of sound "lag" and have purchased most of the popular mentioned wireless headphones to test them out on a number of different detectors.

ALL of the existing wireless headphones on the market today that are made for listening to music have lag - whether it bothers you or not is a personal issue and whether it is more noticeable on one machine versus another is specific to that machine's reactivity speed and also how fast you swing the detector.

I experienced basically the same results as below in my testing (about 8" - 12" lag in hearing the target) and don't know how anyone can be comfortable with that situation - it drives me nuts (but I'm typically a fast swinger)...

The specs for the headphones are clear. Any brand using current 2.4Ghz Kleer technology (Auvio/TDK) has a minimum of about 25ms of signal latency (lag) depending on when they were manufactured as the older models had much more latency. Bluetooth technology is over 100ms latency.

So comments that this or that wireless headphone "has no noticeable lag" is purely opinion based on the 3 factors cited above and not on the fact that the headphone definitely has some lag built into the specs.

Thanks.

Very informative ...and actually scientific rather than opinion. But, what I do know is this: Response time is quick enough that I can get an indication of a good target and when I slow down to pinpoint, the lag isn't bothersome at all. In fact, I'd say I hit the target on the first probe about 80-85% of the time.

Good enough for me!

Thank You All For Your Input , I will try them out on my Vaquero when they are delivered and also on as many other Detectorists Units , to be continued ..............

P.S Feel free to keep this thread ongoing , regards Marty
