automax v4 pinpointer

Save your money, the Garrett is galaxies better. The AutoMax came with my detector it is better then nothing but only just barely. The Garrett is so good I now have two!

Get the pro Pointer.....It is built much more solid, has no knobs to wear out and doesn't need to be re-tuned as it does it automatically. Also, it's made in USA and is THE most popular electronic pinpointer available. Sure, it costs more, but I bet the electronic pinpointer you are looking at will not last as long as the Garrett Pro-Pointer.

I agree about the propointer. The only other option to consider is the pistol probe. It is more expensive but is pulse induction, so it's a comparison of apples to oranges. However, from what I've seen, Minelab's new pro find pinpointer looks, suspiciously, a lot like the propointer and seem to have a lot of the same features and the propointer. If Minelab sees the propointer as good enough to emulate, that tells me that it has to be pretty good.

The pistol probe looks so much like a hand gun, that there have been instances where people have observed someone in a park using the probe and called the police. The police acting on such a call approached the user cautiously with their own hand guns drawn to further question the detectorist. Not good! The Pistol has adjustable knobs, which wear out. It also interferes with metal detectors when turned on, the Pro Pointer Does not.
