Auto Sens Level Running Real Low?

Atlas

New member
Did a 2 hour hunt today using Combine and Ground-Coin and Auto +3. The green recommended sensitivity levels were running all the way down to 4-10. Auto +3 was setting sens at 10-17. I guess this means extremely high ground mineralization? Anyone else experience these low Auto Sens. readings? Some of my other machines in this area (MXT and ATG) ground balanced in the mid to high 80's so I guess it fits that the area is extremely mineralized.

Any ideas if Ground-coin is best? the manual says its for high ground mineralization. Also at these levels would it be advisable to do a manual ground balance? How about manual sensitivity under these conditions?

I've only got about 11 hours on the machine so far so still working on learning the curve.

You might try ferrous coin to see if it makes a difference in your ground. Something I have learned over the years using Minelabs especially the CTX is try not to second guess what they are telling you. With the E-Trac I have dug some nice targets from an iffy signal. Not so with the CTX. Sure I still dig a few but most and I do mean most are junk. Manual sensitivity has helped a few times while relic hunting or at the beach but I use Auto + most of the time. Sounds like your ground is highly mineralized and manual GB deserves a try. HH :minelab:
