Auto Sens. 31?

I was out with my ''new'' E-trac running in auti sens.+ 3 all of a sudden it started running eratic I look at the display and the sens. was running at 31? The black bar was above the top line? I didn't think they would run above 30? This is my second Maylatsia E-trac and I don't care what anyone say's they are not as smooth as the original Ireland E-tracs! That or I have had two lemons? There is something different as I don't know much ,but I know E-tracs and detectors in general. I aint know newbee! And by the way I took the first one in to Minelab and they said nothing was wrong? I 'm sarting to lose faith in Minelab! I hope they haven't ruined one of the best silver coin machines made.

mine hits 31 in auto +3 if the ground is real clean, don't happen often!

clean low mineral soil and little EMI . Have hunted side by side with several Malaysia and Irish made machines and cross checked targets with no difference in performance. Several others on this forum and others have gotten similar results so I doubt place of manufacture plays a role in performance or lack there of. I also have had my E-Trac run erratic a few times in auto +3 but a noise cancel usually calmed it down and if it did not a drop to auto +1 or 2 did.
My new CTX 3030 is made in Malaysia and works flawlessly by the way

The highest mine has been is auto 29. Very stable at that point. I love this machine.

I've had mine hit 31 with auto set at +2 and +3. Did not have any problems with mine.

Well mine is a peice of crap and is going back to Minelab tomorrow! I went to another site today and put the x-8 coil on just to see if that was the problem and it nulled just the same. I got this one from the same place they must gotten a bad run! And if anybody out there doesn't beleive me I have a one week old almost full warranty E-trac I will trade for your Ireland made E-trac even with out warranty! I am so pissed rite now! These detectors aren't cheap unless your some rich yuppie! I would expect somthing like this from FT not Minelab!

Also type of site as in lots of modern trash or old site with lots of nails/iron. Thanks, Ray.
PS I have hunted places where my E-Trac nulled almost constantly with even the little X5 coil but I still found stuff........

It does both,But the nulling is more of a problem. I am using the stock coin program and sometimes running 28 down blacked out like in Andys book. Also I should ad these are the same sites and same settings I ran my Ireland first run E-trac at that I had for over 3 years and it ran smooth as silk. So something is wrong with the Detector as I know how to use the E-trac. I can't beleive I have had 2 bad ones in a row? This is insane! They must have had a bad run or something?

Maybe it is tuned a bit hotter and needs to have the sensitivity backed off a bit .

I tried backing it down even though I didn't have to with my other machine. There is something wrong as it nulls more than an original Explorer and an E-trac shouldn't be running like that. I wish more of these techs. would actually use a detector so they would know more about how they should work in the feild and not just on a bench test.

Well I took my E-trac to Minelab today and the replaced it with a new one so Kudo's to Minelab for great customer service! And to keep par with my luck lately as soon as I put it the trunk the rain started and will continue all day so no Feild test for now. I'm sure it will be O.K.? If not hello V3I.

Neither of my etracs have ever run 30 or 31 in auto plus 3. I have another minelab that does ocassioanlly run at 31 in auto plus 3.
