auto ground balance

I hunted a ball field that auto ground balanced at 49. What does that say about the mineralzation of that soil or did I mess up the auto ground balance.

To me that is pretty good ground. My ground around here is usually in the 40's sometimes it gets in the 30's.

I had to make it a very short hunt, they were starting a youth football game, I found a quarter, two dimes and a black velvet pin.

49 is nice, mild soil for sure. I really only see that around my area where a yard is full of fill dirt.

When I first got my X-Terra, I assumed that the ground balance numbers were 0-30 just like the sensitivity, since I never saw numbers above 30. Yikes. Generally, the soil here is in the low 20s, and sometimes in the woods (wheer I hunt a lot) the numbers will be in the 3 - 5 range. That really, really bad mineralization and can make for difficult hunting. On the plus side, the X-Terra handles it reasonably well -- I pick out decent targets in sites I (and I know others as well) have gone over repeatedly in past years.
