Auto +3 ?

Dirt Dobber

New member
Well I got my ctx out for a couple of hrs yesterday. Couple of pennies and a token. Learning as I go. Can somebody explain Auto +3. I had it in auto ground and auto noise. At one point yesterday the TIDs stopped showing up for awhile. Was a trashy area and could have been too much junk under the coil.

Thanks for the help.

Auto +3 will run your machine 3 power notches higher at whatever the machine is deciding it should be in while using Auto Sens. You'r just pushing the sens up a little by 3 that's all.

Auto sensitivity lets the detector determine the ground conditions and adjust the sensitivity automatically. The -3 to +3 allows you to tell the detector to run the sensitivity from 3 points lower to 3 points higher than it auto is suggesting. I suggest you read through the manual once or twice at least. I know it isn't all inclusive but it's a start.

I hardly ever run +3. +2 works well most all the time and when in really trashy or iron areas straight auto for me.

Here is a post I made a few weeks ago, explaining how Manual and Auto Sensitivity vary, as well as how they are displayed on the CTX 3030.
