Aussie standing liberty half dollar

mesha

New member
Only the second time out with the GT & digi meter in my local park just trying to get use to the numbers and sounds, you can imagine my surprise digging a US half dollar out of the ground here in Australia

cheers Ron

She did alot of walking and swimming to land over their. Way to go bro.:clapping:

More often than not people seem to make great finds when learning a machine because they are willing to dig a lot of different targets, where as with experience we tend to fall into bad habits and think we know what is dig worthy. Seen this happen a million times and it even has happened to me several times when learning a new machine or a coil.

I was digging anything that gave a solid signal and locked in on the digi meter and had the sensitivity backed right off because of over head power lines and this thing at 4"still sounded like the bottom of a coke can.Ive been through this park a quite few times with my MXT so it's only fair I do the same with the GT at least that's my excuse
Cheers Ron

You know, I dug up an Aussie 1976 one cent coin a while back, we should trade even up, that way both coins will be back where they belong.

Wow nice job! those are hard enough to get here in the U.S. ground!
