Just got done reading the article for the second time. You certainly didn't keep many secrets. That ring was a beauty, but what is just as interesting is that penny planchet dated 1922! I reckon that that could be worth as much as the ring you found! A rare find indeed.
It would seem that we hunt the same sort of spots in the big cities and I would have to agree with you about finding play equipment where the kids can hang up side down. I found in a couple of council areas in Sydney, that they have pyramid shaped spider webs. They were the best. I only got to hunt under one of them ($ but found a second one in the early afternoon of new years eve (just as I was about to hit my goal target) and it had sand under it! I salivated for a couple of seconds then noticed some kids playing on it. Had to control my hunting urges and move on.
I didn't do any comparisons between the Ace and the X-Terra30 as I said I would (too focused on get the Ace to the goal). Bottom line is, the Ace wins hands down. It's too depressing using the X-Terra after the Ace. The Ace is just too good for it.
Top article. Congrats
Mick Evans.
