:ausflag:SUCCESSFUL DAY AT BEACH

Headed for our local beach today after a massive 5 metre swell overnight and boy did it do its job well, about a metre of sand was washed away and the place was just littered with coins. Found over 120 in the space of about 150 metres and in one square metre patch I must have pulled out about 10 coins. All have been buried for a long time because they were very dirty as you can see from the photo and interestingly many where sitting about 250mm (10 inches) down on top of a course yellow sand as distinct from the normal fine golden beach sand. Many of the coins were old one and two cent pieces and in the end I just passed over them in search of more valuable coins. Also managed to find a bit a jewellery, two silver rings and maybe a cheap gold plated broach but not sure about that one.

In the end the tide prevented me continuing the search but with $62.20 of loose change in the bag I was a pretty happy chappy by the end of the day.
