:ausflag:E-Trac beach finds

Fortunehunter

New member
Spent the afternoon at the beach today, just my second trip out with my new E-Trac. First trip I concentrated on the dry sand area and collected quite a few modern coins, enough to pay for the drive down to the beach anyway.

Today the tide was out so I decided to give the low tide mark a go. First area I tried was littered with fishing sinkers, got a little tired of digging them so moved on about 20 metres and started finding lots of coins and more sinkers. Interesting thing is that most of the coins were old. I couldn't move more than a foot without getting another strong signal and each time it would be a coin or a sinker. There was only about 6 inches of sand then a layer of gravel and rocks and this is what everything was sitting on top of.

Certainly a location I will be visiting again.:detecting:

Photo below shows the coin finds, also must have found about 25 sinkers.
